Provided is a vessel position reporting device, which transmits a rescue request signal to a control server on the ground when a vessel is in emergency and is automatically separated from a holder unit in which the vessel position reporting device is mounted. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the vessel position reporting device includes: an inclination sensor generating an inclination sensing signal including an acceleration value of the vessel, an angular speed of the vessel, and an earth magnetic field value; a collision sensor generating a collision sensing signal indicating a collision of the vessel; a sinking sensor generating a sinking sensing signal indicating sinking of the vessel; a processor determining overturn of the vessel, the collision of the vessel, and the sinking of the vessel by using the inclination sensing signal, the collision sensing signal, and the sinking sensing signal and generating the rescue request signal and a separation signal in accordance with results of the determination; a communication module transmitting the rescue request signal to the control server; an automatic separation device separating the vessel position reporting device from the holder unit on which the vessel position reporting device is mounted, in accordance with the separation signal; and a battery providing power to a sensor module, the processor, the communication module, and the automatic separation device.
