The present invention relates to an optimal design method of a water distribution network considering pipe size continuity. The optimal design method of the water distribution network includes: a step of inputting initial attribute information; a step of generating a plurality of initial solutions according to a previously registered optimal design technique; a step of calculating a target function value of the initial solution; a step of updating the target function value of the solution; a step of generating a new solution; and a step of updating the target function value of the new solution according to the satisfaction of the pipe size continuity condition. The present invention solves a problem of pipe size continuity while reducing computational time in designing the water distribution network.
