Three-dimensional virtual objects are created using gestures. In one example, a selection of the shape is received. The selected shape is displayed on the display. Observes a gesture for moving at least a portion of the displayed shape away from the display and changes the displayed shape away from the display corresponding to the observed gesture based on the observed gesture. And displays the changed shape as a three-dimensional virtual object after changing the displayed shape based on the observed gesture.
