Environmentally friendly blast furnace process for pig iron production with use of renewable energy, characterized in that recirculated CO2-free top gas preheated as reducing gas by means of a recuperator to 350 ° C, then heated before introduction into the blowing device through a plasma torch to ~ 900 ° C and in the blast furnace by combustion the injected substitute reducing agent is heated to a temperature of ~ 2000 ° C. The injection of hydrogen, generated with renewable energies, above the blow molding level, increases the blast furnace capacity and additionally reduces CO2 emissions. Due to the purity, the CO2 separated in the blast furnace process can be converted into synthesis gas or other hydrocarbons relatively inexpensively using hydrogen produced from renewable energies.
