[Problem] To provide an illumination light source that emits light that is perceived as bright in both peripheral vision and central vision in a mesopic environment and has improved color reproducibility. [Solution] The illumination light source emits white light resulting from the mixing of the light emitted from an LED chip and the light emitted from the plurality of phosphors. A light emission spectrum of the white light has a peak in a wavelength region of 430 nm to 460 nm. In the light emission spectrum, a proportion of the optical intensity at a wavelength of 510 nm with respect to the optical intensity at the peak is 0.45 or higher, and a proportion of the optical intensity at a wavelength of 580 nm with respect to the optical intensity at the peak is 0.60 or higher. Further, in the light emission spectrum, a proportion of the optical intensity at a wavelength of 650 nm with respect to the optical intensity at the wavelength of 580 nm is 0.4 or lower.
