A fuel cell stack (100) includes a first support substrate (5a), a first power generation element, a second power generation element, a second support substrate (5b), and a connection element (3). The first gas flow passage extends from a proximal end portion (501a) to a distal end portion (502a). The first power generation element is held on a first main surface of the first carrier substrate, and the second power generation element is held on a first main surface of the second carrier substrate. The second carrier substrate (5b) includes a second substrate body, a second sealing layer and a second gas flow channel. The second sealing layer covers the second substrate body. The second gas flow channel extends from a proximal end portion (501b) to a distal end portion (502b). The connecting element (3) extends between the distal end part (502a) of the first carrier substrate (5a) and the distal end part (502b) of the second carrier substrate (5b) and forms a connection between the first gas flow channel and the second gas flow channel.
