The invention relates to a method for producing a battery module carrier (10) for accommodating a traction battery of a motor vehicle, in which a housing trough (12) and a housing cover (14) are each manufactured as sandwich constructions by forming respective top sides and undersides of an organic sheet (18, 22 ) and a thermoplastic resin foam (20, 24) is arranged therebetween. The invention further relates to a battery module carrier (10) for receiving a traction battery of a motor vehicle.
