A reactor protection system of a nuclear power plant which is capable of reducing the complex degree of maintenance, by a regular test program for the protection system. The protection system includes a reactor trip system which is divided into N protection channels for receiving protection parameters from a signal preprocessing system and obtaining a threshold comparison resu an engineering safety features actuation system is connected to the N protection channels for receiving the threshold comparison result and outputting a first engineering actuation instruction after the implementation of an engineering actuation logical process; and a safety automation system, which is connected to the engineering safety features actuation system via a safety system bus for generating a first device level control instruction used for controlling an execution mechanism which brings the reactor to a safe shutdown state. The engineering safety features actuation system may include three arrays, with each array connected to the protection channel via a point to point connection.
