PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timbre controller that reduces a sounding lag in timbre switching in a method with less operation restrictions.;SOLUTION: A CPU 6 selects in-timbre-1/2-switching filter coefficient arrays [i] and [x] of a note number [nn] of a key, pressed newly during a waveform data transfer period, out of in-timbre-1/2-switching filter coefficient arrays cf1 [nn], [i], and [x]. Filter coefficients x(0)-x(1,023) of respective indexes i changing from [1] to [4] with an elapsed time clocked during a period from the starting point of timbre switching to the end of waveform data transfer are supplied as multiplication coefficients to multipliers m1-mn of a filter part 10 to perform convolutional operation.
