PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device and method for detecting the temperature change and strain of a sensor medium.;SOLUTION: Provided is a temperature-strain sensing device characterized by comprising: light reflection measurement means for measuring, for a plurality of spatial channels, the optical frequency spectrum of rear Rayleigh scattering light (hereafter referred to as "optical frequency spectrum of rear Rayleigh scattering light," "scattering spectrum"), with a spatially multiplexed optical fiber having a plurality of spatial channels used as a sensor medium; and computation means for calculating a scattering spectral shift from the measured scattering spectrum for each of the plurality of spatial channels, and finding a temperature change of the spatially multiplexed optical fiber and strain of the spatially multiplexed optical fiber utilizing the fact that the ratio of each of scattering spectral shifts of two discretionary spatial channels, out of the plurality of spatial channels, to the central optical frequency of test light is expressed by a temperature change of the spatially multiplexed optical fiber and strain of the spatially multiplexed optical fiber.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
