To provide a package which is comprised of a packaging container storing fruit and vegetables including lettuce, and which can achieve both inhibition of browning of the fruit and vegetables including lettuce, and prevention of malodor, for a long time and at a high level, and thus has an excellent freshness retaining function for the fruit and vegetables.SOLUTION: A package is comprised of a packaging container provided with polymeric film and storing fruit and vegetables including lettuce, and its internal carbon dioxide concentration is 18 volume% or higher, whereas its internal oxygen concentration is 6 volume% or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: None
