PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide integrated circuits (ICs) and Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) that are configured to control power transfer to/from electronic devices.SOLUTION: An IC controller 100 includes a CPU subsystem 102, a peripheral interconnect 114, system resources 116, various input/output (I/O) blocks 118A-118C, and a USB subsystem 200. The USB subsystem 200 includes one or more gate-driver circuits 202. Each gate-driver circuit 202 is configurable and programmable to select whether to control N-channel power-FETs or P-channel power-FETs that may be coupled in power paths that are external to the IC controller 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
