PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a carbonization time of a normal kiln to enable optimization of operation thereof according to a possible operation time and the number of abnormal kilns.;SOLUTION: A method of calculating a carbonization time, which is a method of calculating a time of carbonization i.e, dry distillation of coal charged into a normal kiln that can continuously carry out a kiln discharge process including a coal charging process and a coke extruding process in a coke oven 100 in which a plurality of kilns 110 are disposed adjacent to each other to carbonize the charged coal to produce coke, comprises the steps of: acquiring operation parameters including a possible operation time showing a time when the coke oven can be operated per a unit time; acquiring the number of abnormal kilns each requiring a longer carbonization time relative to a normal kiln; calculating carbonization time information relating to the carbonization time of the normal kilns making use of the correlation of the carbonization time of the normal kilns with the possible operation time and the number of abnormal kilns; and outputting the calculated carbonization time information.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
