The present invention pertains to a shaft tube for a writing instrument comprising a gripping member attached thereto, characterized by: a gripping member attachment section to which the gripping member is attached being formed on the shaft tube of the writing instrument; a first protrusion being formed in an area that is the outer peripheral surface of the gripping member attachment section and is less than a semicircle; and a second protrusion being provided at the rear end of the gripping member attachment section, and having the circumscribed circle diameter thereof being substantially the same diameter as the inner diameter of the gripping member.
