An electrowetting display device includes a hydrophobic layer portion disposed on a first electrode, an electrowetting fluid overlying the hydrophobic layer portion, and a thin film transistor in electrical contact with the first electrode ( TFT). The electrowetting display device also includes a display control circuit that is in electrical contact with the TFT drain or source of each pixel and provides a driving voltage to the TFT drain or source of each pixel, and the TFT drain or source of each pixel. And a reset control circuit that provides a reset voltage pulse to the drain or source of the TFT of each pixel. The magnitude of the reset voltage pulse can be based at least in part on the drive voltage. [Selection] Figure 8
