A fluid pressure producing method reduces fluctuations in the pressure of a fluid (F2) pressurized using a plunger (261,262) driven by applying the pressure of a working medium (F1) to a double-acting piston (23). The method includes switching a moving direction of the piston (23) when detecting the piston reaching a movement end, operating the working medium pump (11) to discharge the working medium (F1) at a maximum flow rate while the load is less than the load limit after the moving direction of the piston (23) is switched, and detecting a pressure of the fluid (F2) and feeding back the detected pressure of the fluid and performing feedback control of the pressure of the fluid to eliminate a difference between the pressure of the fluid and a target pressure of the fluid.
