Disclosed are methods, circuits, assemblies, devices, systems, platforms and functionally associated machine executable code for computer vision based inspection. A mobile device is used to acquire a digital representation of a real-world construction site scene. The acquired digital image is analyzed to recognize and extract potential features of construction related objects. Construction related objects are identified in the scene based on the extracted features. Objects within the digitized scene are compared to and aligned with objects within a corresponding 3D construction site model and the position and orientation from which the digital representation was acquired is found. Differences between parallel objects in the digitized scene and the 3D model are registered and indicated by augmenting visual representations of the differences on a digital display of the mobile device.
