The subject of the technical solution is a device for monitoring vital functions of a pregnant woman's foetus with an optical fibre sensor and a signal processing unit comprising an A/D converter (12) and a digital signal processor (13), wherein the signal processing unit is connected to an interferometer, which comprises a transmitting unit (1) with a source (7) radiation, a receiving unit (2) with at least one photodetector (6) and a fibre optic sensor, connected by means of optical fibres between the receiving unit (2) and the transmitting unit (1), with optical fibres forming a measuring path with a measuring loop (4) and a reference path with a reference loop (5) with at least one coupling element (8) at the beginning and the end of the aforementioned paths, wherein, preferably, at least part of the measuring path with the measuring loop (4) of the optical fibre sensor is fixed in the primary coupling element (9) made of elastomer.
