摘要

The present disclosure is related to the synthesis and application of nanomaterial composites formed of electrochemically produced and reduced graphene oxide, and carbohydrates that are used as coatings in different substrates such as: wood, ceramics, fabrics and paper, therefore providing flame retarding properties to said substrates. The coating applied on these materials has the technological advantage of being free of halogenated compounds, decreasing the release of organic material, since the degradation product remains in the carbohydrate phase, preventing the formation of ash. The synthesis consists of three stages: the electrochemical production of reduced graphene oxide combining the traditional Hummers method with an electrochemical reduction at 4 Volts, the chemical digestion of cane bagasse in acid medium to obtain carbohydrates and the mixture of both for obtaining a composite in a 50:50 ratio. The obtained ink can be applied by traditional methods such as dipping, brushing or spraying.
