Processes and catalystsystems are provided for dewaxing ahydrocarbon feedstock to form a lubricantbase oil. A layered catalyst system of thepresent invention may comprise a firsthydroisomerization dewaxing catalystdisposed upstream from a secondhydroisomerization dewaxing catalyst.Each of the first and secondhydroisomerization dewaxing catalysts may beselective for the isomerization ofn-paraffins. The first hydroisomerizationcatalyst may have a higher level ofselectivity for the isomerization ofn-paraffins than the secondhydroisomerization dewaxing catalyst. At least oneof the first and secondhydroisomerization dewaxing catalysts comprises smallcrystallite zeolite SSZ-32x.
