Provided in the embodiment of the invention are a method and a device for determining caching strategy, relating to the technical field of communication, which enables an API management cluster to generate a caching strategy automatically. The method comprises: performing, by the API management cluster, statistical analysis on a plurality of received API request messages and API response messages, and determining a caching time period according to the statistical analysis resu and determining a caching strategy by the API management cluster. The caching time period is a time period in a period after the period where the first time period is located that corresponds to the first time period. During the first time period, contents of API response messages corresponding to all API request messages carrying the first API identification received by the API management cluster are the same.
