According to the present invention, a region-securing device 2201 has: a sequence-specifying unit 2202 that, with respect to first sequences that, for sequence information in which rows and columns are arranged in two dimensions, represent either the rows or the columns and second sequences that represent the other of the rows and the columns, specifies, for partial sequence information that includes information that is in at least a portion of the first sequences, sequence identifiers that represent target sequences that, from among values stored in elements that are arranged in the second sequences, have at least one value that differs from a prescribed value; and a region-securing unit 2203 that calculates the number of sequence identifiers specified by the sequence-specifying unit 2202 and secures a storage region that has a storage capacity that corresponds to the calculated number.
