A MICROFLUIDIC DEVICE FOR SORTING OUT DROPLETS

A micro-fluidic device (100) to sort out objects from a liquid stream. The device comprises a first channel (110) comprising a first liquid (115) and a second channel (120) comprising a second liquid (125) and the first liquid (115), and a third channel (130). The second channel (120) is connected to the first channel (110) and the channels are positioned such that a jet flow coming from the second channel (120) can deflect objects in the first liquid (115) into the third channel (130). The first liquid (115) is a liquid which has a higher viscosity than water and the second liquid (125) may be the same as or different from the first liquid (115). The micro-fluidic device is adapted for generating the jet flow in the second liquid.
