The medication assist device comprises: a medication instruction information acquisition unit 12 for acquiring medication instruction information including medicine information and user information; a medicine package holding unit 16 for holding medicine packages; a user confirming unit 14 for confirming whether a user corresponds to the user information; a medicine package providing unit 18 for extracting a medicine package corresponding to the confirmed user from the medicine package holding unit 16; a medicine package confirming unit 20 for confirming whether the medicine package or a medicine in the medicine package corresponds to the medicine information; an action recognition unit 22 for recognizing actions of the user; and a medication determination unit 24 for determining whether the medicine has been taken as instructed by the medication instruction information, on the basis of the medication instruction information, the confirmation result of the user confirming unit 14, the confirmation result of the medicine package confirming unit 20, and the recognition result of the action recognition unit 22.
