The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the work processes of electrical connection between a stroke pressure detection part and a circuit element of a circuit. Provided is a digital pen, comprising: a stroke pressure detection part which is positioned at one end side of a cylindrical casing body in the axial direction thereof and which detects a pressure which is imparted to a core body; a circuit substrate for which a flexible substrate is used that has a shape that is extensible along the axial direction within the casing body; and a holder part which is housed within the casing body so as to extend along the axial direction and retain the stroke pressure detection part and the circuit substrate. The circuit substrate is formed such that a stroke pressure detection part mounting part, a circuit mounting part whereupon a prescribed circuit is formed, and a wiring part in which a wiring pattern is formed which electrically connects components of the stroke pressure detection part which is mounted upon the stroke pressure detection part mounting part and circuit elements of the circuit mounting part, are arranged in the axial direction. The stroke pressure detection part mounting part of the circuit substrate is retained by the holder part in a state of being perpendicular to the axial direction such that it is possible for the flexible substrate to be bent at the wiring part portion thereof and for the stroke pressure detection part to receive the pressure which is applied to the core body in the axial direction.
