Disclosed are a 3D printing apparatus capable of improving the printing efficiency and a 3D printing method therefor. The 3D printing apparatus capable of the improving printing efficiency comprises one printing head (1) and several powder spreading devices (2), wherein each powder spreading device (2) respectively corresponds to one printing area (3); each printing area (3) is successively arranged in a linear direction, and each printing area (3) is respectively provided with a workbench that is lifted and lowered in an independently controlled manner; each of the powder spreading devices (2) can perform bidirectional round trip powder spreading, and the bidirectional round trip powder spreading direction of the powder spreading devices (2) is perpendicular to the linear direction where the printing areas (3) are arranged; and the printing direction of the printing head (1) is perpendicular to the powder spreading direction, and the printing head can be moved in the powder spreading direction to realize the line feed and round-trip printing. The above 3D printing apparatus is provided with one printing head and a plurality of powder spreading devices, enables the printing head to print continuously without halting, and eliminates the waiting time, thereby substantially increasing the printing efficiency of the device and reducing the printing costs.
