The present invention relates to a mathematical education method and apparatus capable of enabling a user to perform self-directed learning. The apparatus comprises: a learning module (141) which provides a learning interface including learning information on one mathematics concept to at least one learner terminal (110) connected through a network; and a concept net database (DB) (143) which associates a plurality of predefined mathematics concepts with a mesh net structure to have at least one lower and at least one upper relation. The learning interface comprises a net link which is connected to a learning interface for providing learning information on mathematical concepts with upper and lower relations together with explanation data for learning of the one mathematical concept. Accordingly, a plurality of mathematical concepts are associated with a mesh structure in which upper or lower relations are entangled. By providing a link for an interface that provides data describing relevant upper and/or lower concepts on an interface describing a particular concept, effective self-directed learning can be performed.
