The purpose of the present invention is to specify a method which enables both C_5 and C_9 aldehydes to be economically produced, wherein the method must be able to be provided with the lowest dependence on raw material suppliers, and the method must be able to flexibly respond to fluctuations in demand for C_5 and C_9 aldehydes. Further, use of resources for the method should also be optimized. The suggested method uses LPG or NGL as raw material. The method according to the present invention is essentially different from a well-known method based on LPG in that an intermediate obtained after dehydrogenation and removal of by-products is divided into two parts. The C_9 aldehyde is produced from a first part by oligomerization and hydroformylation while the C_5 aldehyde is obtained by hydroformylation of a second part. The method according to the present invention has an important advantage that it is possible to enable a larger amount of the C_5 aldehyde or the C_9 aldehyde to be produced according to respective demands by flexibly dividing the intermediate into the two parts.
