The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating dyslipidemia or fatty liver disease, containing a Sargassum serratifolium extract as an active ingredient. Specifically, the Sargassum serratifolium extract lowers content of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, and prevents fat accumulation in liver tissue, thereby being useful for preventing or treating dyslipidemia or fatty liver disease.
