The present invention relates to an optical inspection apparatus and an optical inspection method using the same, capable of performing inspection for a scratch on the exterior of an inspection target object or for defect code recognition using various codes such as a character represented on the object, a bar code, a 2D bar code, and a QR code by irradiating the object with light. According to the present invention, the optical inspection apparatus includes: an external device for recognizing a preparation state of an inspection target object (50) to transmit a photographing preparation signal; a photographing device (100) for photographing the inspection target object (50); and a lighting device (200) for receiving the photographing preparation signal from the external device to transmit a photographing start signal to the photographing device (100), wherein the lighting device (200) irradiates the inspection target object (50) with light to receive information on whether the inspection target object (50) is normally photographed, and abnormal photographing information received by the lighting device (200) is transmitted to the photographing device (100) in case a photographing result of the inspection target object (50) is abnormal to additionally photograph the inspection target object (50).
