METHOD FOR ELIMINATING MULTIPLE-TIME-AROUND TARGETS DUE TO DUCTING PROPAGATION

The present invention relates to a method for removing multiple-time-around targets which may be generated in a ducting phenomenon in a coherent pulse radar having a fixed pulse repetition frequency (PRF). The method comprises: a step of restoring coherence of a radar signal received from targets existing within a maximum detection distance through phase modulation and demodulation of a transmission pulse radiated in each PRI of a coherent pulse radar; a step of obtaining a power spectrum represented by a range/Doppler region by performing coherent Doppler processing on all reception signals within a given CPI frame; a step of detecting a target by performing range CFAR in a range direction in the range/Doppler region; and a step of removing multiple-time-around targets by performing Doppler CFAR on the target detected in the range CFAR in a Doppler direction.
