According to the present invention, an optical system for a HUD includes: a base substrate positioned on the traveling path of an image display light and having a positive dielectric constant; and a switching shutter which is formed on the upper surface of the base substrate and changes the transmission of the image display light according to the change of a physical signal applied from the outside. It is possible to minimize the degradation of visibility due to external light.
