Moisture removal device using electrical discharge

A housing for electrical equipment with a moisture removal device therein is disclosed. The device includes a first electrode exposed in an interior of a housing having an electronic circuit board therein, connected to an electrode of a power source, and coated with a dielectric material on a surface thereof. The device has a second electrode exposed in the interior of the housing with the electronic circuit board therein, connected to a remaining electrode of the power source, and spaced from the first electrode so that a space therebetween is defined. The apparatus has an electric discharge air path provided between the surface of the first electrode coated with dielectric material and the second electrode, and in which moisture of air is decomposed by electric discharge occurring between the first and second electrodes when air circulates in the housing in the electric discharge air path.
