A tubular coolant sleeve 30 for the stator 12 of an electric motor for a vehicle (50, figure 13) comprises an inner metal tubular member (32, figure 6) and an outer plastics tubular member 34 provided coaxially about a longitudinal centerline axis of the sleeve. The outer plastics tubular member is preferably over moulded to the inner metal tubular member. The outer plastics tubular member may comprise an aperture(s) or gap exposing the inner metal tubular member. The coolant sleeve outer plastics member may include an integrally moulded circumferential formation(s) 36 located at an axial end (22, figure 7) which can support a plurality of concentrically arranged electrically conductive elements 26. The formation(s) may be a rib which may be substantially parallel to one another. The outer surface of the plastics member may comprise a recess(s) configured to receive and support a sealing member. A stator, electric motor, vehicle and method of manufacture are also claimed.
