METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SEXUAL BEHAVIOUR IN MALE MAMMALS

The invention relates to the veterinary field. The method for temporarily blocking sexual functions in male mammals, including behavioural phenomena (seeking a partner, vocalization, etc.) is provided. The method includes single/double administration to an animal of pharmaceutical composition comprising ±-adrenergic blocking agent tropic to the posterior nuclei of the hypothalamus, melatonin and steroid compound with gestagen activity as active substances. The method provides the opportunity, while using the minimal dose of the steroid hormone, to inhibit sexual behaviour of male animals for the period of several weeks to half a year (depending on the daytime length). The pharmaceutical composition is intended for the transdermal administration during any period of cycle. The use of the drug is not accompanied by side effects, characteristic for this type of medicines.
