To provide a wholly aromatic polyamide fiber having excellent abrasion resistance while maintaining strength, and a rope composed of the same.SOLUTION: Provided are: a para-type wholly aromatic polyamide fiber containing 20-70 wt.% of tungsten particles within the fiber, in which a single yarn cross-sectional area of the fiber is 100-800 μmand a total cross-sectional area of the fiber is 1,500-300,000 μm; and the rope composed of the para-type wholly aromatic polyamide fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
