PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress frequent switching operation of a gear change stage such that right after gear change of a vehicle into a higher gear is recommended, gear change into a low gear is recommended again when a travel load on the vehicle is high.;SOLUTION: A gear change information computation unit comprises: a recommended gear temporary determination part 102 which refers to a gear change map in which gear change stages are defined corresponding to vehicle speeds of a vehicle and accelerator opening extents of the vehicle, and temporarily determines a recommended gear when it is determined based upon a vehicle speed, an accelerator opening extent, and a current gear position of the vehicle that a threshold for switching of a gear change stage is exceeded; and a recommended gear correction part 103 which determines a travel load on the vehicle on the basis of acceleration of the vehicle and an engine torque load on the vehicle, makes a correction to change the temporarily determined recommended gear to a current gear position when the travel load on the vehicle is high, and determines a recommended gear, and determines the temporarily determined recommended gear as a recommended gear when the travel load on the vehicle is low.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
