To provide: a ruthenium gold core-shell nanosheet-structured catalyst which has a high specific surface area and exhibits a stable catalytic action by employing a ruthenium nanosheet as a substrate material and making gold atoms deposit thereon; and a production method of the same.SOLUTION: Provided is a ruthenium gold core-shell nanosheet-structured catalyst which comprises a ruthenium nanosheet as the core and a gold atom deposit as the shell. The gold atom deposit is preferably constituted as a gold atom deposit of one or more atom layers by an underpotential deposition method of cupper and a gold substitution method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
