To provide a product design and a process design device having a better investment efficiency.SOLUTION: A product design and process design device comprises a storage part storing design specification information containing a tolerance of dimension variation at any point of an assembly product, component dimension error information, assembly equipment error information of equipment assembling a product, assembly tolerance information that is a relation expression of the design specification information, the component dimension error information, and the assembly equipment error information, component manufacturing cost information against the component dimension error information, and equipment investment cost information against the assembly equipment error information, a tolerance allocation processing part generating a tolerance allocation plan differentiating a combination of allocation of each error using the assembly tolerance information and calculating a component manufacturing cost and an equipment investment cost, an equipment plan processing part determining the tolerance allocation plan by using the total manufacturing cost that is the sum of the calculated component manufacturing cost and the calculated equipment investment cost as an evaluation index, and an output part outputting the tolerance allocation plan.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
