To provide a Rankine cycle system which can quickly eliminate a high-temperature/high-pressure state of a working fluid in a circuit of the Rankine cycle system at a finish of an operation of the Rankine cycle system, and its control method.SOLUTION: At a stop of an operation of a Rankine cycle system 10, when a temperature Te of a working fluid Fw is not lower than a preset stop reference value Tec at a time point at which an operation of an expander 14 is stopped, the circulation of the working fluid Fw by a working fluid pump 12 and the circulation of a cooling medium W for cooling the working fluid Fw by a condenser 15 are continued until the temperature Te becomes lower than the stop reference value Tec, and on an after the time point at which the temperature Te becomes lower than the stop reference value Tec, an operation of the working fluid pump 12 and the circulation of the cooling medium W to the condenser 15 are stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
