To provide an operation control device of a motor compressor capable of driving a motor with a rotational frequency within a wider range than in the conventional case while avoiding vibration due to resonance.SOLUTION: An operation control device of a motor compressor is provided with: an operation prohibition range setting part which sets an operation prohibition range for prohibiting an operation of a motor at engine speed within a predetermined range to avoid vibration of the motor compressor due to resonance of the motor; a motor engine speed setting part which sets the engine speed of the motor on the basis of target engine speed and the operation prohibition range of the motor according to use of the motor compressor; a signal output part which outputs a control signal for controlling the engine speed of the motor on the basis of setting of the engine speed; a voltage application part which applies voltage to the motor to rotate the motor on the basis of the control signal; and a load current detection part which detects a load current value flowing to the motor, in which the operation prohibition range setting part sets the operation prohibition range according to the load current value by considering that the engine speed of the motor in which the vibration occurs may vary according to the load current value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
