To provide a design method of a centrifugal pendulum damper which can stably obtain proper damping performance more than before while enhancing a damping capacity at a vibration order for alleviating vibration.SOLUTION: In a design method of a centrifugal pendulum damper, an excitation vibration order of a pendulum is set constant in a region in which a swing angle of the pendulum is within a specified range, and in a region exceeding the specified range, the excitation vibration order is changed according to the swing angle. When setting a characteristic line indicating a change of a torque absorption amount of the centrifugal pendulum damper with respect to the vibration order of the pendulum as a torque absorption characteristic when changing the excitation vibration order, a change gradient at a low-order side of the vibration order is set smaller than that of the excitation vibration order of the characteristic line. Then, by offsetting the characteristic line to the low-order side of the vibration order, the torque absorption amount at the specified vibration order for alleviating vibration is increased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
