To provide a light-emitting device with high reliability.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a light-emitting device according to an embodiment hereof comprises: a step of preparing a light-emitting device in which a first semiconductor laser element 20a and a second semiconductor laser element 20b are connected in series; a first measurement step of causing a current to run through the first semiconductor laser element 20a and measuring a property including at least one of electric and optical properties of the first semiconductor laser element 20a, and causing a current to flow through the second semiconductor laser element 20b and measuring a property of the second semiconductor laser element 20b; a step of causing a current to go through the first semiconductor laser element 20a and the second semiconductor laser element 20b for a fixed length of time or longer; a second measurement step of measuring a property of the first semiconductor laser element 20a, causing a current to pass through the second semiconductor laser element 20b and measuring a property of the second semiconductor laser element 20b; and a step of evaluating the first semiconductor laser element 20a and the second semiconductor laser element 20b respectively.
