TRAVEL SUPPORTING DEVICE, TRAVEL SUPPORTING METHOD, AND DATA STRUCTURE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel supporting device which outputs data indicating where a vehicle should travel within the width of a travel lane as a travel recommendation degree for each vehicle type, a travel supporting method and a data program therefor.;SOLUTION: Travel information from a probe vehicle is stored to be associated with road network information including information on a travel lane and a travel line corresponding to a travel characteristic of a vehicle is stored in a travel recommendation degree management database. When an inquiry from the vehicle is accepted, a travel recommendation range and a travel recommendation degree stored in the travel recommendation degree management database are read out correspondingly to the travel characteristic of a vehicle included in the inquiry and a road on the road network to be travelled. According to the travel recommendation range and the travel recommendation degree, travelling is supported.
