To provide a cleaning air volume control device and a cleaning air volume control method which can reduce a running cost.SOLUTION: A cleaning air volume control device includes a membrane filtering device and an air volume control part. The membrane filtering device includes a separation membrane which separates a solid contained in a liquid from the liquid. The air volume control part controls a cleaning air volume as an amount of air for cleaning the separation membrane based on an actual resistance value as an actual result of a resistance value indicating difficulty for a liquid passing through the separation membrane to flow, and a target resistance value indicating a target of the resistance value of the separation membrane in a predetermined period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
