PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new means for predicting the brewing characteristics of a raw material grain from data obtained from a small amount of raw material grain samples.;SOLUTION: Provided is a method for preparing a prediction formula for predicting brewing characteristics when producing a brewed material by using a raw material grain having unknown brewing characteristics. In the method, one or more samples for metabolome analysis are prepared from each of the raw material grain samples, a plurality of sets of metabolome analysis data are acquired, and brewing characteristic data are acquired for each of the sample raw material grain samples. Then, the metabolome analysis data are subjected to multiple regression analysis for each objective variable using the explanatory variables and the brewing characteristic data as the objective variables.
