PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for diagnosing the deterioration of a tile which can recognize a tile floating type.SOLUTION: A deterioration diagnostic device 10 of a tile for diagnosing deterioration of a tile diagnoses the presence or absence of the deterioration of the tile by catching an abrasion sound generated by moving an abrasion member 12 while its surface is pressed to the tile surface by abrasion sound recording means 14. The deterioration diagnostic device of the tile includes: abnormal sound extraction means 16 for extracting an abnormal sound representing the deterioration of the tile based on the abrasion sound caught by abrasion sound recording means 14; and type determination means 18 for determining the abnormal sound of a frequency component which is the previously determined threshold value or more as the floating of a tile ceramic piece and determining the abnormal sound of the frequency component which is less than the predetermined threshold value as the downward floating of the tile ceramic piece from among the abnormal sound extracted by the abnormal sound extraction means 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
