PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric toothbrush in which, a mechanism to be used can be switched between two mechanisms, namely, a mechanism for driving at low speed, using a speed reduction mechanism, a brush drive shaft to which a toothbrush body is connected, and a mechanism for driving the brush drive shaft at high speed without using the speed reduction mechanism.;SOLUTION: There is provided an electric toothbrush 10 comprising: a motor 51 in which a pinion gear 53 is connected to a rotary shaft; a brush drive shaft 60; a speed reduction mechanism 80; and a switching mechanism 90.
