PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work-piece conveying system and method, capable of effectively reducing the interference between a conveying device and placing tables or work-pieces placed on the placing tables, when the work-pieces are assorted to be conveyed onto a plurality of the placing tables by the conveying device.;SOLUTION: A work-piece conveying system 1 has a holding part 11 of holding a work-piece W by sucking, and comprises: a conveying device 2 for conveying the work-piece W by moving the holding part 11 in the horizontal direction and lifting it up/down; placing tables 3a-3c having the respective placing faces 24a-24c disposed adjacently so as to place the work-pieces conveyed by the conveying device 2, and a lifting drive unit for lifting the placing faces up/down; and a controller C for controlling the lifting drive unit and the conveying device 2 so as to convey the work-piece W onto the placing face of a target placing table X, or onto the upper face of another work-piece W when the another work-piece W is placed on the placing faces 24a-24c; or otherwise so as to convey the work-piece W onto the placing faces 24a-24c of the target placing table X by lowering the placing faces of placing tables other than the target placing table X, or the other work-pieces W when the other work-pieces W are placed on said placing faces.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
