PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an EGR valve of an internal combustion engine capable of calculating a pre-control amount of the EGR valve with high responsiveness in a transient time, while suppressing hunting in a stationary time, and to provide a control method of the EGR valve.SOLUTION: A control portion (31) of a control device 30 of an EGR valve of an internal combustion engine 10 implements feed forward control of a pre-control amount in addition to feed back control of a PID control amount, executes a pre-control processing for calculating the pre-control amount of an opening of an EGR valve 42 by multiplying a calculated value of the opening of the EGR valve 42 by a filter having a time constant, and in the pre-control processing, the time constant of the filter is changed according to a rate of change of a load so that the rate of change of the load in the transient time in which the rate of change of the load of the internal combustion engine is relatively large, becomes smaller than that in the stationary time in which the rate of change of the load is relatively small.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
